92 BILLION TONNES
OF TEXTILE WASTAGE
20% OF GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS
The fast fashion industry produces their products at a rapid pace in sweatshops using the most cheap and convenient materials, despite the industry hoarding 166 Billion AUD. Thus, scraps of material turn into poor, pathetic pieces of clothing.

A garment is killed by how often it is worn, how long it takes to break, and how trendy it is before it inevitably gets thrown into landfill. When forgotten in these piles of junk, it will never, ever be reused or recycled, as only less than 1% of all clothing worldwide is recycled, despite what the “sustainability” collection of Cotton-On may say.

This mass-produced wastage is scarring, as the energy consumption affects greenhouse gases, water, microplastic density and chemical waste.
